Diamond Multispecies Overseeding

A mixture of Clover and Forage Herb for overseeding into an existing grass sward SOW AT 4KGS/ACRE. AVAILABLE IN A 10KG PACK (1 HA) While successful overseeding isn’t always guaranteed, it does offer a number of benefits
  • Lower establishment costs and full cultivation not required
  • Faster turn around time when less lost forage production
  • Greater options for weed control
  • Red Clover and Chicory offer establishment benefits, while White Clover and Plantain can offer longer term productivity
Tips for Success:
  1. Soil test to ensure optimum soil fertility. Ph of 6.5 to 6.9 will benefit legumes
  2. Identify a field with a high % of Perennial Ryegrass, most likely recently reseeded. A full reseed would be more beneficial in older swards
  3. Check if sward is open and bare ground is available for new seedlings to establish
  4. Target warm moist soil conditions
  5. Graze tight to remove excess material and expose soil
  6.  Use a drill to achieve excellent seed to soil contact
  7. Use watery slurry to also improve soil contact
  8. Reduce Nitrogen application to suppress Perennial Ryegrass competition, keeping in mind on farm feed demand
  9. Graze frequently after seeding, keeping pre grazing herbage mass below 1200 Kg DM/ha to prevent shading

Diamond Multispecies – MSS MEASURE 2022

Main Advantages of Species included in Diamond Muiltispecies Sward: Perennial Ryegrass – Produces high quantities of highly digestible forage. Very responsive to nitrogen fixed by legumes Timothy – Grows well in cold wet soils, different root structure to PRG and different feed fibre   White Clover – Persistent under tight frequent grazing. Can spread via stolons to increase proportion and improve persistence. Red Clover – Tap root structure is less persistent under tight grazing but is more aggressive growth and N fixation in year of establishment Ribworth Plantain – More robust under frequent tight grazing. Diuretic effect, with deeper rooting N capture, helps reduce Nitrogen leaching into groundwater. Higher mineral content than grasses Chicory – Extremely highly digestible leaf material, giving animal performance benefits in early life of sward. Proven not to be persistent under very tight grazing. Antiparasitic properties.

Diamond Horse Paddock

• Long term horse grazing mixture, also suitable for hay crop • High in fibre, low in protein and low in water soluble carbohydrates • Low risk of Laminitis • Excellent sward density to cater for exercise & galloping • Creeping grasses included to resist poaching and tolerate tight grazing

Diamond Heavy Land with Timothy

Diamond Haylage

Diamond Grazing with Plantain

Why Ribwort Plantain:
  1.  the most persistent forage herb under intensive grazing, potentially lasting 5 years
  2. Has a Diuretic effect – cause cows to urinate more and sprad nitrogen more evenly across paddock in lower concentrations
  3. Deeper rooting structure – allowing for Nitrogen capture lower in the soil profile
  4. Has higher mineral content

Diamond Intensive Silage

Diamond General Purpose

MIXTURE OF INTERMEDIATE AND LATE HEADING VARIETIES BRINGING EXCELLENT SEASONAL YIELD POTENTIAL

  • Exceptional spring and total yields
  • First cut silage ready to cut from 20th May to 5thJune, depending on closing date

Diamond Hi-Density

LATE HEADING MIX WHERE SWARD DENSITY IS A PRIORITY, WITH THE OPTION OF A SILAGE CUT

  • GLENFIELD High PPI late tetraploid bred by Teagasc OAKPARK with leading seasonal growth and silage yield.
  • OAKPARK High PPI late diploid bred by Teagasc OAKPARK. Excellent seasonal growth, silage yield & ground cover
  • ASTONKING Excellent Spring and with Good Grazing Characters
  • CRUSADER Exceptional white clover that can tolerate tight grazing
High Diploid mixture creates a denser sward, meaning this sward more competitive under lower Nitrogen, high rainfall areas or slower draining soil

Diamond Hi-Digestibility

LATE HEADING INTENSIVE GRAZING MIX FOR EASY CLEAN-OUT, HIGH SPRING AND SEASONAL GROWTH WITH THE OPTION OF A SILAGE CUT

  • ASTONENERGY Unmatched digestibility and clean graze out. Consistent for graze out. Highest quality on the 2022 Pasture Profit Index
  • GLENFIELD Late tetraploid with exceptional spring and total yield on the 2022 Pasture Profit Index. Brilliant combination of spring growth and with 5 star on the Teagasc Grazing Utilisation Trait
  • ASTONCONQUEROR The Highest PPI diploid with 4 Grazing Stars. Best Combination of Seasonal Growth and Grazing Utilisation Trait
  • CRUSADER Exceptional white clover that can tolerate tight grazing
