CAPRICE BEANS

CAPRICE is a new variety of spring bean which was added to the Irish Recommended List for 2022. Based on 4 years of official trials, it is now proven to be very well adapted for growing in Irish conditions.
  • High yield potential, consistent performer in trials and on farm
  • Very good early vigour and easy to establish – suitable for very early sowing
  • Best resistance to lodging of all varieties listed by DAFM
  • Best resistance to Chocolate Spot of all varieties listed by DAFM
  • Good resistance to Bean Rust (significantly better than Lynx) and Downy Mildew
  • Earliest maturing variety listed by DAFM – very useful trait for Ireland, especially in later sowing years
  • Produces grain with a high protein content and relatively low tannin levels.
  • Certified Irish grown seed in the ground for harvest 2022

LG AUCKLAND

NEW VARIETY FOR 2022/23 AUCKLAND is an exciting new hybrid variety that has consistently produced very high seed yields in the UK AHDB Recommended List Trials in recent years AUCKLAND has been included in the DAFM Irish official trials for harvest 2022. It is the highest yielding variety to combine Turnip Virus Yellows Resistance and Pod Shatter Resistance all in one package. It also displays exceptional vigour both in the autumn and the spring, together with a very solid disease resistance profile.

DK IMPRINT CL

  • The leading Clearfield variety with very good overall agronomic traits, including Pod-Shatter Resistance
  • Rapid autumn and spring 3 development to counter CSFB adult, larvae and other threats.
  • Strong foliar disease resistance for the greatest management ease and flexibility.

DK EXPANSION

DK Expansion is a very high-yielding hybrid bred by Dekalb. Since it first hit the Irish market in 2018, it has already become the largest single WOSR variety grown on the Island. It has gained this position for a good reason – reliably high yielding with several very strong traits:
  • Rapid Autumn growth habit – suitable for a wide range of sowing dates
  • Double phoma resistance
  • Stiff Stemmed at harvest
  • Very reliable high yield
  • Excellent Light Leaf Spot Resistance
  • RLM7 Phoma Resistance
  • Excellent Early Vigour
  • Top Pod Shatter Resistance

AMBASSADOR

AMBASSADOR was the largest selling variety in Ireland in autumn 2021 and has since been added to the new DAFM Recommended List for 2022. Speed of establishment and the opportunity to grow away from early pest damage are recognised as key attributes by growers for establishing oilseed rape crops in Ireland. Ambassador has a very strong disease resistance package with RLM7 plus quantitative resistance against Stem Canker combined with good resistance to Light Leaf Spot, a disease widespread throughout Ireland. The variety is medium-early to flower, with a medium maturity, ensuring there is less damage from late frosts. This provides an optimum duration of flowering and pod fill to maximise seed yield potential.
  • Fully loaded hybrid
  • Very high yields
  • Turnip yellows virus (TuYV) resistance
  • Pod shatter resistance
  • RLM7 resistance
  • N-flex trait ( greater N efficiency )

SU PERFORMER

  • Extremely consistent and reliable high yielding variety commercially grown in Ireland for last 3 years
  • Sow @ 250 seeds per sq metre, crop will produce many tillers and remain very vigorous throughout the season
  • Very tall (like all rye varieties) but exhibits good loading resistance, especially with modification by PGR’s
  • Excellent performance on lighter / less fertile soils, ideal choice of crop variety for third cereal slot in rotations
  • Ideal wholecrop variety with high fresh / DM yields, comparable to maize silage grown in the open
  • Also potentially suitable for use in biogas production and for distilling

SU BARESI

  • A new variety with very high yield potential, both in grain and total biomass. Ideal for wholecrop silage, yields of >50t/ha fresh weight possible.
  • Tillers very well, producing a very dense canopy of medium to tall straw with good lodging resistance
  • Improved resistance against Brown Rust vs SU Performer, lightly shorter in plant height also, similar crop maturity
  • SU BARESI has delivered the highest biogas yields per hectare in UK & German trials, which makes it an ideal variety for methane / energy production
  • Produces grain with very good specific weight and above average Hagberg Falling Number
