Description

Etincel x (Henriette x Limpid). Very high yielding conventional 6-row variety from Secobra which was added to Irish Rec List for 2019. Short variety for a 6-row (85cm) with good lodging resistance (7) but

prone to brackling (4). Very good autumn vigour, suitable for later sowing. Good resistance to mildew & net blotch, but susceptible to rhyncho and ramularia. Early maturing. Excellent specific weight for a 6R type (67 KPH) with low screenings (2%). Smaller seed than 2-rows (45-47g TGW) so seed rate can be reduced by 10-15% in comparison to 2R alternatives. In use with Boortmalt as winter malting variety.
