Diamond Red Clover Grazing – N Saver
- High Clover mixture allowing nitrogen saving once established
- AstonEnergy is a 5 star grazing variety, AstonConqueror is a 4 star grazing variety – Better grazouts promotes clover development
- Astonenergy is the highest quality variety on the 2022 Pasture Profit Index – sward quality drive animal performance
- Tested in Teagasc Solohead with zero chemical Nitrogen after seeding, achieving high DM yield
- Red Clover quickly develops produces Nitrogen in the year of sowing
- Can be grazed but intensive grazing will shorten lifespan of red clover
- White clover will fill spaces created by red clover dying out
- Chieftain and Crusader white clover are the most common white clovers used in Ireland tried and tested across all soil types
Note: reduced chemical Nitrogen should be accompanied by regular grass measuring to track sward performance. Reduced chemical Nitrogen can lead to reduced feed supply if inadequate clover present

Leisure Lawn
Usage guide: Leisure Lawn
Sowing rate: 25-30 g/m2 (100-120 kg/acre)
Sowing time: April to late August
Sowing depth: 10 mm
Sowing instructions:
Eliminate weeds well before preparing the seedbed, hand weed or use a suitable weed killer (seek advice from your local store). Create a good seedbed by digging the soil over to a depth of 15 cm and leave to settle, ideally for a few weeks. Remove weeds and excess stones. Rake over the whole area to create a flat, fine and friable seedbed. Firm the seedbed by rolling or treading the site evenly.
Carry out two equal sowings at right angles to each other and diagonally to the main axis. Broadcast manually or use seed drill, rake level and roll. Ensure good seed to soil contact. Apply a suitable fertiliser to ensure adequate nutrients are available for the seed.
After sowing:
- Control weeds if necessary
- Take the first cut when the grass is 6-8 cm and mow down to about 3 ½ cm (or the highest setting your mower will cut to) this will help the lawn to thicken out
- Over the next few weeks gradually reduce the cutting height down to 2 ½ cm.
Hybrid Silage
Sowing rate: 16 kg/acre (40 kg/ha)
Sowing time: April-September (first week)
Sowing depth: 10 -15 mm
Sowing instructions: Cultivate to achieve a fine, firm seed bed. Ploughing will help level rough fields. Sow in good conditions (warm with rain forecast), no deeper than 10-15 mm. Roll well after sowing to ensure good soil/seed contact. Apply N, P & K as per soil test results and nitrates rules.
After sowing: Monitor for pest attack and take immediate action where necessary. Post-emergence weed spray is essential approx. 5-6 weeks after establishment, prior to firsy grazing/cut. Where clover is included in the sown mixture, use a clover safe spray.
Ideally, in the first year graze the new reseeds frequently and at low covers for the first few grazings to aid tillering and help increase the sward density.
Subsequently, take three to four high-quality silage cuts from early May. Graze in the backend to ensure a clean sward is carried into the winter.

- Contains 100% Irish native wildflower meadow seed
- Sowing rate: 1.5 g/m²
- Pack size: 500 g
